Trust me on this; I have done lots of research, plus I have a lifetime of experience. 99.99% of women do not want a short guy for a long term relationship. Do what I did -- go to a dating website, like match.com, and read hundreds of women's profiles, and you'll find that most of them say exactly the same thing -- they all want a guy who is taller than they are. In fact, the 'taller guy' specification comes up even more often than the 'well-paying job' specification.
Science and Sociological studies and statistics agree with me on this. Tall guys are more successful in life, with better pay, greater authority, more promotions, and higher upward mobility. And it's not because they are smarter, or more aggressive, or nicer, or anything like that. It's just because they are taller. The women already know this, because they helped put all the tall guys into the positions of better pay and authority. It certainly wasn't us short guys who recommended, promoted, or voted for the tall guys. It is a well-known scientific fact that the human population is gradually getting taller, and that is for one reason, and one reason only -- women universally prefer tall men, and the genes of the short men get tossed out.
A tall girl may flirt with you, but don't take it seriously, because she doesn't, and she never will. She may think you're cute, like a little dog, but that doesn't translate into real passion. A short guy will never have much comparative bragging potential with their girlfriends.
But wait -- it gets worse -- because the short girls don't want a short guy either. What the short girls want is a guy who is just as tall as the tall guys that all of the tall girls are going after. You will often see the short girls with their tall guys -- the top of her head comes up to his navel, or perhaps to his armpit. So most of the short girls will already be taken by the tall guys.
Having an arranged marriage will not save you from this predicament. The chief objection that women everywhere have against arranged marriages is that the poor girl might get betrothed to a short guy and be stuck with him for a lifetime.
My advice to short guys is that your best bet is to find a girl who is so short that she is actually
afraid of tall guys -- like a tall guy might not see her and accidentally step on her or something. And your dwarf girl will really appreciate you because she knows that she could never successfully compete with all the tall girls for the tall guys. Also, if you can, you short guys might consider emigrating to a country where
all of the people are shorter than in your own country. There the women might accept you as normal.
Best of luck,

As a short guy (5'9") I've realized that short guys are no longer genetically viable. So forget about short women as well, because the majority them also go for the tall guys.Short guys should resign themselves to being single.Find some hobbies or other things to do with your time.Just forget about women, they're not worth the trouble.Sorry, not trying to break anyone's spirit, just stating my true feelings on the subject.

Not me. Anjali and the Incredible Kid. Anjali visited my Persian rug shop a couple of years ago. Back when I had a rug shop, that is. Now I just have 450 Persian rugs and no place to show them!

SugarLandEng: Thanks for the interesting and thoughtful comments.
FYI, I'm 56 years old and 5 ft , 5 and 1/2 inches tall. I am a yoga teacher and quite fit, look young for my age, and dye my hair, which started turning grey when I was 30.
I was with my exwife (who was 5 ft 7 1/2 in ) for 17 years, and she occasionally complained about our height difference throughout that whole time. Often enough to show me that it mattered to her. After I left, within just a few months she had a guy living with her who was over 6 ft tall. And I have noticed that women who are shorter than me often have a much more noticibly interested response than those who are taller. -- GF

Hello Gregory!
Sad predicament, I agree!
A short guy can try enhancing his height if it helps. It can be easily attained with a simple mallet on the head! The lump can be self-inflicted or delivered lovingly by the girlfriend! It is sure to add at least 5 inches to the height and they can look authentically tall without heels.........Ranjini
